Three years ago Jim Martin and his best mate John survived a bizarre bone crushing aircraft disaster that should have killed them instantly. The flying enthusiasts co-owned a very small lightweight two man aircraft. One winter's day they took it out for a ride, shortly after take-off whilst cruising at 1000 ft in the air they suddenly heard a strange noise. About 6 ft behind the boys a series of metal bearings fastened the aircraft's tail and rudder to its body, shockingly these bearings started to give way one by one. The boys share their experience of the event.
