Roger Arthur Peterson was the pilot of the plane that crashed killing Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson February 3, 1959, 5 miles north of Clear Lake, Iowa ... "the day the music died." Roger was born & raised in Alta, Iowa, and is buried at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
