First sub-40!! The vast majority of the time saved over my PB comes from Day 3, implementing an ancient trick to skip activating the Yellow Onion. Not only do you save a lot of time escaping from the Yellow Onion cave early, but not activating the Onion skips over 30 seconds worth of cutscenes, since they don't combine after the day ends. It does cost minor amounts of time later on in the run, but nowhere near enough to offset the major savings on Day 3.
There's still a lot to be optimized and improved, and I'm sure this will be beaten by others very quickly, but I'm happy with this for now. I want to focus on learning All Fruits; that's something I always wanted to do on Wii U but it never ended up happening, so I hope to correct that.
