Happy birthday to me! I'm 25 today and I'm so excited to be sharing this video! This song is one I wanted to use for years now but never really settled on a story for it; I wanted to tell a story about two people who meet up again after a while of separation, but just never got around to deciding on one.
Years later I was inspired to revisit the idea after becoming a fan of Rami, and I had already wanted to do a video for Ahk and Chris, and while finally watching the Meet The Parents trilogy I came across the subway scene from the third and just knew I could work with Greg and Elliot's. That thought mixed with the beach scene from Further Lane and the boardwalk scene with Elliot greatly sparked my inspiration and helped create the idea anew.

Here's the main plot points:
-Set after the second movie. The third doesn't happen.
-Ahk and Larry had a relationship but Larry put a stop to it because of all the age problems.
-Chris meets Ahk during the late hours, and it was crush at first sight. Ahk liked Chris' sense of humour and decided he wanted to be with him. Larry researches the tablet, takes Ahk to see his parents, they give him their blessing for the spell, and the tablet uses all its power to give Ahk new life.
-Chris was never aware of Ahk's true past and always thought he was just an actor.
-After Ahk left the museum renovated and shipped all the old exhibits to storage now that there was no magic. Larry quit after that, and he and Ahk lost contact.
-Chris ended up being abusive and hit Ahk often, once even sending him to the hospital, and after that they broke up. Feeling too proud as a pharaoh to admit he’d ruined everything by using up the tablet’s magic for himself, he never got help from Larry and lived on his own.
-It’s a year later when Ahk and Larry meet again, and old feelings resurface in the both of them. While Ahk tries to rekindle their friendship, Larry is shocked at how changed Ahk has become and their conversations don’t last long. In the end Ahk tries to see if they can still work, but the age gap is still too large and Larry doesn’t want to hurt himself or Ahk again so he holds back. The confusion then drives Ahk to spend a night with Chris again which he regrets once it’s over.
-After Ahk decides to leave New York and start over with his second chance at life he finally goes back to Chris and tells him everything. Chris doesn’t believe him, but Ahk accepts the closure as it is and, after visiting the museum, plans on leaving the city without saying goodbye to Larry. In the end it’s Larry who calls Ahk first and tells him he wants to give them a second chance, and this time neither cares about the age difference or anything else because they’re truly happy.

Concerning Chris and his role in this I have to say it changed quite a bit from what I wanted and what the reality of his actual footage was. I thought it (and a few others) up before I had seen anything else of Noah Fleiss' other than Until Dawn, so imagine my surprise when I realized he is NEVER HAPPY. His other roles either have him mad or sad like ALL THE TIME. I had wanted the relationship between Chris and Ahk to start out happy and then go sour, but with the footage I actually had he ended up being a complete douchebag who never wears glasses. So the exact opposite of Chris. That part sucked but his footage still was able to match up very nicely so I'm not complaining too much, I'm just sad at the knowledge that I won't be able to make any happy videos with him and Elliot as Josh now :/

This was also a video with some deleted scenes; turns out I completely underestimated how much time I'd need for the other big talking scenes! After Ahk talks with Chris I wanted him to skype with Larry about saying goodbye as well as contemplate how he was going to move on from everything, but to get those scenes in he wouldn't get the closer he needed with Chris so I had to cut them out. He was going to spend a little longer at the museum, he and Larry were going to have more scenes at the beginning to show the rise and fall of their relationship properly, and more was going to happen at the end including a shot of Chris watching them before they left, but I had to leave it out all to avoid it jumping around too much and speeding everything else up.
So yeah, the video itself was going to have a lot more happening, but I made a choice and I stuck with it, so maybe in the future I'll get the chance to fit those missing scenes in other stories.
