video covering the context behind my rant about pico 4 sideloading feature- this isn't a dirty word or taboo with pico, its literally a feature built in to headset unlike the hoops needing to jump through on quest 2.
this is pico vs pico, not quest.
On Pico 4 with OS5 it has the following issues.
.Apps launch portrait, with no way to correct or set them to be landscape
.No way to do anything else in headset without app being soft closed, so things like adjusting settings such as Bluetooth etc when some apps are running will mean your app is restarted when you go back into it, you also cannot move around the environment like you can on neo 3 link without losing access and view to the application.
. No second environment that gives you a virtual sitting area that's less taxing to render or have home explore or store buttons and other stuff in the way and gives access to bigger screens and ability to view in daylight or nighttime sky.
.no black void option (lights off) so home environment is always rendered (which is currently heavy level 5) and means it's not as immersive as you still have your environment in view around you, not just the image from the app.
. Apps do not fully close if using a hardware process, one example ie discord mic cannot be stopped once enabled meaning full headset shutdown to stop it, on neo 3 link the exit button stopped microphone.
In short, please pico, put it to exactly how neo 3 link is, that is amazing and works absolutely brilliant, best out of any standalone headsets.
