You will love making this simple stylish and useful tote! This large bag features 2 exterior pockets, wide quilted handles, full lining with lots of useful pockets and a flat base to really carry all your STUFF :) . I just used it for a week a the beach with sunscreen, water, hats, snacks, etc for 4 kids and myself and it was fabulous :)
Materials and cutting sizes for the bag:
For the exterior sides:
(2) natural duck cloth 16'' x 21''
(2) canvas weight cotton 4 1/4'' x 21''
(2) quilting cotton pockets 10'' x 20''
(2) fusible interfacing 10'' x 10'' (I used pellon 981 TD)
(2) quilting cotton handles 6'' x WOF (usually 42'' -44'')
(2) cotton batting 2 1/2'' x WOF for cotton handles
For lining:
(2) canvas weight 16'' x 21''
(2) quilting cotton pockets 18'' x 21''
(2) fusible interfacing 9'' x 21'' (I used pellon 981 TD)
For base:
(1) canvas weight 9'' x 12''
(1) cotton batting 9'' x 12''
(1) quilting cotton 9'' x 12''
(1) fusible interfacing 9'' x 12'' (I used pellon 981 TD)
You will also need a Sewing machine, thread, iron, and fabric scissors!
