Remember when you were a kid and your parents told you to go outside and play? Well, this video is all about that, except in our case, the parent (gardenstead’s president, Katie Macdonald) is going outside with her kids!
Why are we going outside to play in this video? Well, first of all, it’s fun. But, also — studies have shown that it’s important for all of us to spend time in nature. And for kids, it’s even more important. Time outside provides health benefits, emotional benefits and developmental benefits, and, when kids go outside, they can develop an understanding of the natural world and an appreciation for all the earth gives us. Katie talks about all of this with her kids, and shares in the joy of nature with them in this video. There’s about a month left of summer — go outside and play!
