For the roof mount damper box model, it is typically used in homes with sealed or conditioned attics. The fan unit should be installed close enough to the damper box to create an "S" bend in the duct, which reduces noise. Ensure there are no obstructions on the roof or in the attic.
For the roof mount damper grille models, RM WHF-4.0-DG1 or DG2, determine the rafter spacing using a stud finder to choose the appropriate model. Install the fan centrally and ensure proper spacing from the damper grilles to reduce sound transfer. If venting exists in the installation bay, seal off the side next to the damper grille to create an airtight cavity.
