The 'tricolor' method is an old, ancient trick I read in a White Dwarf lost to a distant and misty time before memory. Pick a Light, Medium, and Dark version of similar colours and run with those as the inspiration for a very simple colour scheme, letting you finish armies seriously quickly!

Todays guide uses a mix of Speedpaint and Contrast, but beyond the Hoplite Gold you could quite freely choose one coat paints from any manufacturer you prefer. The important thing isnt so much the specific paints as much as working through the job step by step, and considering your stages to prevent as much mess as you can during the painting.

Ive said a couple times before, but when something isnt going right on a miniature, its not always a good idea to completely bin the thing before youve seen it through. The work isnt finished until the very last brushstroke, and youd be surprised by how much of a difference just a few last adjustments can make to even the most dire paint job. Todays video is a pretty good example of taking a breath and examining the tools youve got to adjust something on the fly!

Little by little, I keep painting British infantry in smaller scales. Maybe one day Ill be brave enough to tackle 3mm figures as Ive seen people doing - now *thats* tiny! Smaller scales dont necessarily lack for detail, but that doesnt mean you need to painstakingly highlight everything. In fact, most of my highlights are pretty chunky blobs to stand out at table distance!
