Why can't physicists just be consistent? #shorts
You may have seen a meme floating around where Robin tells Batman to close the window because he's letting all the "cold in", at which point Batman tells him off (to put it lightly) and says that it's actually the heat that's being let out, as stated by the Laws of Thermodynamics.
But then, physicists turn around and use things like conventional current, simply because it's mathematically convenient, despite the discovery of the electron having been made many years ago. Physicists also like to work with quasiparticles that don't really correctly model any sort of flow. But hey, if it makes the mathematics easier, anything goes right? In that case, why can we not let the layperson who says "don't let the cold in" off the hook?
At this point it's worth me mentioning that you should probably have a look at the date on which this video was uploaded :)
