My typical process for post-processing my arch viz renderings has involved lots of adjustment layers and masks, but recently I have been trying to adjust my workflow a little bit to integrate the same techniques I use in my photography processing. In theory, processing like a photographer would lend itself to more photorealism in my rendering work. In addition, it also adds a lot of flexibility in creativity with filter and LUTs type effects. By processing in this way you can quickly and easily get various different looks and effects.
The key to the process, as I show in this tutorial, is to use the Camera RAW filter in Photoshop. It is a full color grading solution all in one filter. There are also many nice preset effects that you can experiment with, unlocking your creativity in a very intuitive way.
*This is another lecture from my upcoming course all about creating advanced 3d environments using 3ds Max and V-Ray.
