Hey, folks. It’s time for one of them photography on locations. This time I’m photographing the wonder and glory of a pallet yard in Los Angeles. Yessir, this is the kind of thing a photographer dreams of shooting someday. What’s that? You want to shoot Yosemite or Mesa Arch or the Grand Canyon? Well GET IT OUTTA HERE. Not in my house, kid. Ugly industrial photos or nothing.
I’ll be breakin’ out ol’ reliable for this one - my Shen Hao TFC 617-A with some Kodak Portra 160 film. That’ll be for the main event. Then I’ll put some miles on my lovely Fujifilm GA645Zi.
But wait a minute…what’s that? No. It can’t be. *gasp* Why, yes it is! That’s Ilford Kentmere Pan 400 film in 120 format! Truly unbelievable.
…yeah Ilford sent me some film before they officially released it. I shot one roll. Not enough to make a full judgement call on it, but hey, at least I’m trying something new for a change. Will it replace my beloved Kodak Tri-X? Well you’ll just have to watch the video to find out! Or continue reading, because I’m about to give you the answer right here. You ready?
The answer is no.
Kentmere’s great and it’s super affordable, but I don’t take kindly to change. I gots the films I likes and I likes to keep ‘em that way.
