- Phosphorylation is the process in which ADP becomes an ATP as it passes through a ATP Synthase protein
- Phosphorylation of molecules makes them less stable, which makes it more likely to react and thus releases energy as ATP -- ADP
- Phosphorylation is important because many metabolic reactions require ATP
