In this video adapted for viewing on a phone, I take viewers through the complete Alberta Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) “Proof Of Proficiency” (POP) testing process required every 2 years to renew my Authorization To Carry (ATC) permits.
The video covers both:
• Dispatch ATC testing for trappers using a .22 LR handgun
• Wilderness Protection ATC testing for defense against dangerous animals while working in the bush
You will see the actual live-fire qualification process, including:
• Holster draws
• Timed shooting drills
• Standing and kneeling positions
• Accuracy standards
• Distances used during testing
• The scoring requirements needed to pass
I also demonstrate the firearms and equipment I personally use:
• Smith & Wesson Model 617 (.22 LR)
• Ruger Security Six 2-3/4"
• Smith & Wesson Model 29-3 10-5/8"
