This is an animation of Mars and one of it's moon's Phobos. Scientists say the asteroid will eventually collide with Mars, and the other moon Deimos may break away from orbit.
Scientists also speculate that Mars may have been habitable at one point with large oceans until green house gasses made the planet lose it's atmosphere and water on it's surface. HEADS UP PEOPLE, this could happen to earth if we don't stop our energy wasting habits and adjust our use of energy in carbon emmissions. Note the frog in the pot of water warming up. This animation is not to time accurate representation. As Phobos travels around Mars in 8 hours we may make another animation showing this in a time accurate scale, obviously showing less motion of the orbital path.
