Phnom Penh is getting its very own Pub Street. The downtown riverside area will be getting a makeover with new sidewalks, green spaces, and walkways. The Governor of the Board of Governors of Phnom Penh (that's a mouthful) announced that a 57 hectare area would be pedestrianized after 6PM everyday, starting at the end of the year. Siem Reap's Pub Street is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Cambodia, so it will be interesting to see how this affects tourism in Cambodia's capital.
I'm headed down to the soon-to-be revitalized area to get a sense of how big it is and what each area currently encompasses.
