Our journey starts in Mersing, Johor, revealing the challenges and resilience of Malaysia’s seagrass ecosystems amid climate change.​

Through the Blue Carbon Collective initiative, efforts are focused on exploring the role of seagrasses in mitigating climate change while advancing the commitment to achieve Net Zero.​
​
This programme, driven by Yayasan PETRONAS, marks an important step in marine ecosystem conservation through a Seagrass Mapping and Community-Based Programme that covers the mapping of seagrass meadows in Malaysia. It supports restoration of seagrass meadows, promotes awareness of their importance in climate mitigation and empowers communities to build resilience for a sustainable future.​
