PETA has sent a formal letter to the SPAM Museum in Austin, Minnesota, requesting a new "memorial-style" exhibit recognizing the pigs used to make the famous canned meat.

The request comes right before the museum's 10th-anniversary celebration in downtown Austin. Along with the proposal, PETA has offered to hand out 1,000 free samples of a vegan canned ham product if the museum installs the display.
