It is finally here! I spent truly long hours to make this happen. I think it imprisoned me in some sort of a stockholm-syndrome where now I'm just super happy to listen to it, even though listening to it again and again and again and again during mixing made me absolutely mad. It's also a rare occasion since it has vocals! That's still very, very new to me, so please tell me what I could do differently next time if you spot some recording and mixing errors here. Be gentle, I'm not used to playing around with vocals :D

The vocals are by my good friend, who wishes to be credited as Ishimakitty. Unfortunately she doesn't at the moment have any content of her own online. Believe me, I tried to convince her to start her own youtube music channel or something! Her voice is sooooooo good. I'll let you know if she starts posting her own music :)

For those familiar with and interested in the technical background of the recording of Ishimakitty's vocals:

I recently bought a USB microphone and a stand for it. We decided to record this song in my student flat. Unfortunately my student flat is rather empty so the reverb is very prominent. I solved it by turning my closet into a recording studio: Set up towels over two open closet doors and position the microphone inside. So basically, she was giving this incredible performance inside my closet :D. I can't stop laughing about that now. I had tried this with my own feeble voice and found it to be enough. My friend, however, does not have a feeble voice. Only when mixing began I noticed those towels on closet doors were not enough. The room reverb was there in a very sharp, metallic way. it's still present to varying degrees throughout her vocals so if you really listen to it you can hear it. I tried my best to negate it and in the end I think it turned out alright :). But yeah, my pro tip from this one: Even if your DIY sound isolation might work for your untrained voice, it might not be enough for someone who can really belt it!
