Think of this scene as a Persona 5 Boss Battle on Ming in a nutshell when she turns into a shadow manifestation of herself finding Mei Mei at a 4Town Concert.

It did have some elements of Persona 5 it portrayed on Turning Red in that Final Battle like scene where Mei Mei and Ming duke it out. Plus Ming is like a furry karen that feels like a Boss Battle.
