The photographs analyzed here were taken by Perseverance Rover on July 12, 2022 (Sol 495) at the local mean solar time of 16:15:50 and 16:56:25 respectively.
Here I feature an item that is totally out-of-place; it looks almost like a ball of wire or string. All the rovers parts are mounted securely in place and nothing resembles an untidy part like this anomaly. Did a piece of wire or string come off the rover or landing gear? If so, how did it end up in a ball?
Could this be an ancient fossilized creature (like an octopus/jelly-fish) or plant?
As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.
