On the evening of Wednesday, March 26, we were thrilled to host Immersion and SUSS, who united for a special live collaboration titled Nanocluster. Immersion (Colin Newman and Malka Spigel), celebrated for their inventive and immersive approach to sound, creates complex and engaging sonic landscapes that captivate listeners.
SUSS, with their signature blend of ambient and minimalist influences, adds a layer of serene and expansive sound. It’s a perfect combination sparking new textures – imagine Celexico in slo-mo with Eno adding splashes of synth loveliness. SUSS combine pedal steel, national steel guitar, mandolin, harmonica, baritone guitar, and the harmonium, which they weave with synthesizers and loops to create their echo resonant sound.
Together, their collaboration created a rich auditory experience, blending Immersion’s dynamic textures with SUSS’s tranquil atmospheres. This performance offered a unique journey through their combined styles, exploring new sonic realms and providing an engaging and immersive experience.
