In this video, we show how the TruLaser Cell 7040 and a sophisticated automation solution are used to achieve high-precision 3D laser processing of tailor welded blanks (TWB). TWBs enable different material grades and thicknesses to be combined within a single cut—ideal for structural components with the highest requirements in terms of weight and crash behavior.
Laser-based manufacturing ensures optimum performance, especially for safety-relevant components such as door rings, double door rings, and B-pillars.
The system scores with 100% automated production, robot-based parts handling, and intelligent bin picking for reliable detection and positioning of the workpieces. If the component type or production volume changes, the TruLaser Cell 7040 can also be operated manually at any time – for maximum flexibility with minimum space requirements. Full integration into the TRUMPF ecosystem guarantees seamless integration into existing manufacturing processes.
