The characters in this piece are:

The relationship between Night and Catacomb is definitely my favourite in the Dangerous Wings story, and I certainly hope that when I start writing it, it doesn't accidentally become toxic, as their relationship is meant to be the purest and fun in the whole book series.
Their relationship is also the oldest, with me canonically making them a couple very early on in the planning, like before many of the series villains and even later mains showing up. (It was somewhere between 2014-2015 I made them a couple).
In the original storyline (not the current one), Catacomb and Phantom fell in love, well, had feelings for each other, but after months, the two for some reason never developed their relationship, not even a kiss was shared. Phantom soon realized Catacomb, while never wanting to hurt her, was showing interest in Night. So with the relationship going nowhere, Phantom approached Catacomb and told him that him and Night should be together. Catacomb wanted to make sure it was completely alright, and Phantom reassured him that she wanted them both to be happy and that she'd eventually find someone who looked at her the way he looked at Night. So once they separated, Catacomb waited for two weeks to make sure it isn't a rebound, before asking Night out. And she said 'yes'.
