First off, like almost every other video I've been posting for A Shattered Star: these sketches were OLD. I had actually finished up all of the Juniper frames back in early May, and only just now got around to finishing the rest. This was sketched out in February, and was originally meant to be an animatic... until I realized that it made no sense ot introduce new characters via an uncolored animatic lol.

Story (buckle up, it's a long one!)

Lumi is a kitten born in Grotto Nation (I use 'nation' instead of clan for this series). Because Grotto's camp is located in an abandoned mansion's 'grotto garden', the territory is filled with carefully placed stones and infrastructure unlike any other nation.

Unfortunately, this also has it's downsides. There was a complete collapse of the original nursery. Lumi gets her leg crushed, and it gets infected, fast. Spector- Lumi's parent- fears the worst as her child begins to fade away.

A miracle appears, however. Dahlia, the unseen God of Life, enters the den late one night. Though Dahlia is clearly injured themselves, Dahlia gives up the last of their energy to heal Lumi, their essence then fading away. This baffles Pumpkin (Grotto's Healer) and Wolf (Grotto's Leader), but they're happy to see Lumi healthy.

Fast forward: when Lumi's a warrior, Wolf is suddenly blinded by a mysterious ailment. While the nation desperately tries to heal their leader, Lumi sees something no other cat can see. Juniper, the God of Death, is hovering over Wolf, attempting to take his soul back to his realm. This infuriates Lumi, who calls out to Juniper to stop. Juniper instantly recognizes Dahlia's essence in Lumi. Lumi had unintentionally gained part of Dahlia's powers, thus becoming the new 'God' of Life. With this newfound power, Lumi strikes at Juniper, while keeping Wolf alive in the process.

After this PMV, Wolf appoints Lumi as deputy after the sudden death of their previous deputy, Rook.

The big thing to remember in this story is that healing does NOT equal healing disabilities. I do not believe in that. It is why Lumi does not get their leg fully healed and why Wolf stays blind even after the intervention from a god.
