Recipe for Peppermint Patchouli Soap 4 pound batch 30% water/fluid, 6% SF
12.8oz coconut oil (20%)
6.4oz canola oil (10%)
3.2oz castor bean oil (5%)
19.2oz olive oil (30%)
22.4oz sustainably sourced palm oil (35%)
8.82oz lye (NaOH)
10oz water
9oz goat milk (added to oils)
0.6oz patchouli essential oil
1.5oz peppermint essential oil
1/4 teaspoon himalayan rhubarb root found here: annegeorges.com/products/himalayan-rhubarb-rheum-emodi-natural-dye-powder-for-fabric-paper-soaps-antique-golds
As always be sure to run any recipe you find online through a soap calculator before making!
Combine oils and milk. Mix lye into water, dissolve. Add dissolved and cooled lye water into oils/milk mixture. Blend to emulsification. Add essential oils.
We assume the maker has a basic understanding of making soap, if you're new to soap making, don't start with this recipe! It can get tricky since the water:lye ratio is pretty tight.
