Peppermint Palace from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
It's December, now, which means ice level music
Or, it would for most people
I'm not going to be arranging much ice level music this month. I probably won't arrange any ice level music, for that matter. I have found that ice music is just the same old tropes: sleigh bells, violins, pianos, woodwinds, and sometimes brass or an alto sax. It just gets tiring and old. So I probably won't do any ice music for the rest of the year. I might do some for next year, but if I do they will be full of guitars and the other usual things you find in my arrangements.
Now for Kirby
If you look on my profile description, you will see that I do not have "Kirby" under the list of game series I arrange music for. I used to have it there, but I do not anymore. When I make arrangements, I try my best to make it different from the original, either by adding instruments like guitars or by adding my own solos. I try to stay away from making the arrangement similar to the original, as to distinguish it from itself. I know I have done transcriptions in the past, but I don't really like to do those as I feel they limit what I can do. So, if I can, I try to not arrange a song if how I would arrange it ends up as a transcription, but with a bad soundfont. What does this have to do with Kirby? Kirby music is already perfect.
Kirby music is great. I've never heard a bad Kirby song before. So when I go to arrange some songs from Kirby, it ends up just being a transcription with a bad soundfont. There's no real point in uploading it to Musescore if there is already a transcription of that song uploaded here. So I have trouble finding good Kirby songs to arrange. Even when considering the 8-bit Kirby songs, I have trouble arranging them to make it sound better than the original. It's hard to improve
