What does nesting season mean?
Penguins are pairing up and there might be some eggs.
To encourage natural nesting behaviors, the Animal Care team adds nesting materials to the habitat like rocks, hose pieces and lavender for the penguins to use to build their nests.
Typically, the male penguins will build the nests to attract a female or reinforce an existing pair bond.
