differences: not much! this is a pre release demo with a few minor changes. mix is different, less brought back (set rip is loud as well) very beginning 0:00 has a bassy impact not present in the final version. at 1:19 a riser starts playing but as opposed to the final, the riser part keeps going, and then theres an extended bar or two from 1:28 to 1:33, with the siren not present (this part and the riser part are merged in the final mix !! probably to prevent mixing confusion , but could have been an accidentally copied part as well) aside from all that, after the rewind they play it again and at 4:55 the phasey break is there right after the main parts end! in the final that one comes a few bars later.
so why is this worth a set rip upload? because to me finding this is a personal triumph. the submarines / pack of wolves / bacteria remixes in my view were a triange of demoless smashers. it makes sense for them not be demoed and nailed on the first go as its pendulums first time at targeting ram records (wolves) and virus recordings (baceria) and another case of them getting warmer with breakbeat kaos (submarines). these were three massive ace tracks i could not believe not to have even pre release demos at all. yet pack of wolves and bacteria keep having their finals played, pendulum actually played this early version at the 2004-02-14 renegade vs metalheads event at the coronet. ive heard this one so many times and only recognized the extra bars recently. very happy to find this.
fun fact: this is the second instance of a demo version of a pendulum remix found so far, the first one being the just a ride pend x adam f remix bipolar alternative version at the connexions bbc mix (it has strings where it shouldnt). its not 100% sure wether we count that one as a demo yet!
