cherry's remake - assembled from sound rips and the offiical stems
sooo i've been working on this one during september and shelved it cause i planned to redo the other two smof demo remakes as well and was meaning to put them up in bulk later. but then again, why wait? so here you go :-)!!!
the 2010 matter version of set me on fire is the infamous demo with the gnarly (and annoying) "modern talking" wavetable found in NI's Massive audio plugin. funny that swire's 2011 KP ep would end up being called 100% no modern talking as swire himself used it in many smof versions, including the one on the album.
this version's intro resembles the final but still has leftovers from the 2009 ibiza version intro (in the form of snare rolls), has a couple other drumbeat variations and includes a sweeping pad thing that would end up being removed for the final. there is no acid buildup, it gets to the drop straight away. the main drop is totally different from the final (no point describing it tbh). the drumkick seems to be the same as the 09 ibiza version but the snare is different, resembles the final's snare instead. the bridge after the first drop is essentially the intro again just with the drop's strippd down drums. the predrop sample before drop 2 is sampled from virgin android (a late 2004 sub focus x pend song!). drop 2 includes a couple bass variations, otherwise the same. the set rip cuts off the moment its second section ends but one note of the same bridge from before plays so i included that section to follow. it is unknown what's beyond this point, honestly i would assume it either ends or loops around but i swore an oath to stop coming up with fictional sections so i ended it there :D!
