Pen Cerrig-Calch, as climbed from Crickhowell via Table Mountain (Crug Hywell) in the beautiful Black Mountains of South Wales. This is a VLog of the second climb I did in April, the first being Picwys Du, the other side of the Brecon Beacons. This time I am flanked by YouTubers Sam (@SamWalksALot) and Warren Brand (@Linleys ) for a lovely, if steep, climb to the top of Pen Cerrig-Calch (701m, 2,400ft) which goes from the grasslands of the valley to the desolate moonscape and stone shelter on top of the ridge. I was of course armed with my DJI Mavic 3 drone to grab some shots all the way up.
Sam and Warren filmed their own versions of this walk, which they may release soon (more professional than my attempt most likely but hey, I got there first!)

Apologies about the state of my face/nose, I always suffer when exerting energy like this! Also a disclaimer that the intro contains shots of the nearby Carmathen Fans- this was the first climb before Pen Cerrig-Calch but I really wanted to show some of the footage we used on the Wessex Ways podcast on that climb (channel below). Finally, I used PowerDirector on an old Galaxy tablet to edit the video. As it stalls at 4 minutes of video editing, I had to produce this in 2 sections and then re-load them back in to stitch, hence loss of quality. Be assured the original drone footage is breathtaking!
