Peer N Peer Presents: The Nuts & Bolts of PnP-Focused Harm Reduction

Andy Lessard (CBRC), Jess Murray (Queer & Trans Health Collective), Maticus Adams (MAX Ottawa), Bren Dixon (Sexuality Education Resource Centre), Andrew Thomas (AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia)

Peer N Peer is a peer- and community-led harm reduction project based in the party’n’play scene, with iterations in Edmonton and Ottawa, and more recently, Winnipeg and Halifax. The program is built on values of harm reduction, destigmatization, celebration, and realities of drug use, opposing criminalization of drugs and sex work, and challenging racist, transphobic, homophobic, ableist, classist, pearl clutching, colonial/imperial and prison-industrial projects. In this workshop, Peer N Peer coordinators will explain the nuts and bolts of developing harm reduction supply kits to meet the specific needs of folks who party’n’play, describe the various components, why and how they are used, and how any community-based or harm-reduction-aware organization could create these to meet the harm reduction needs unique to queer and trans people who party’n’play.
