So very proud to share this project with all of you, my first DT project for 2014 still working with Ephemera's Vintage Garden, using the printable journal kit, "Peculiar Ancestry" a beautiful collage of images right up my alley, steampunk but with loads of color and attitude, hope you like it, cheers
Peculiar Ancestry Mini Album Tutorial Print Out
Materials needed:
1 12x12 heavy to medium chipboard piece
25 pieces of 8.5x11 cardstock color coordinated to designer paper
Printable Journal Kit by Ephemera's Vintage Garden: "Peculiar Ancestry"
Medium gel
Olive green StazOn ink
Tools needed:
Paper trimmer, scissors, ruler, bone folder, score board, we are Memory keepers crop-A-dile corner chomper "Scallop". Tim Holtz's Baroque die
Measurements:
Hinge for pages
(Photos show 8 for the tallness of the hinges but it 7.75 just as it is written in the PDF)
Cut 1 piece at 3.25x7.75 then score .75" on each side (see photos)
Cut 1 piece at 2.75x7.75 then score .75" on each side (see photos)
Cut 1 piece at 2.25x7.75 then score .75" on each side (see photos)
Cut 1 piece at 1.75x7.75 then score .75" on each side (see photos)
Add tape according to photos
Book covers & Spine
Cut 2 pieces of chipboard at 8.25x5.5 this one is the covers
Cut 1 piece of chipboard at 8.25x2.25 this one is the spine of the book
Tyvek
Cut 1 piece at 8.25x6
Outside cover papers
Cut 2 pieces of cardstock at 10.25x6.5 (only for the covers not the spine, see photo)
Spine Cover
Cut 1 piece at 10.25x4.25 (this will give you 1" flap to fold over inwards)
Building the pages
Cut 8 pieces of cardstock at 8.75x5.25 then score on the 8.75" side .5" on each end
Cut 8 pieces of cardstock at 7.75x5.25 this one will be part of the pocket page
Cut 8 pieces of cardstock at 7.75x5.5 this one is the flap for all the pages
Follow the photo tutorial to build the pages, sticking the pages to the spine hinge then spine/pages on to the book.
From here you can matt your pages according to the photos or decorate according to your choice.
