"Jesus says: 'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.' Peacemakers. Not peacekeepers—people who avoid conflict at all costs, who pretend everything is fine, who keep silent to keep the peace. But peacemakers—people who actively work for reconciliation. Who pursue shalom. Even—especially—with enemies.
As God's children, God's DNA, God's character—of righteousness, justice, shalom—is woven into who we are. Of course, this doesn't mean we get it right all the time. But it does mean that our default setting changes. Love becomes our inheritance. Justice becomes our family business. So we center on: Love. Justice. Right relationships. The flourishing of all. Not just for siblings in the faith. Not just for neighbors who are easy to love. Not just for the vulnerable. For everyone. Even—especially—enemies. Love is the priority.
Love—real love, costly love—shows up. With your body. With your time. With your presence. Step by step. Day by day. Among the pots and pans. You don’t have to do everything. But you do have to do something. Because what John is saying is: knowledge without action isn't love; it's just information. And God isn't looking for people who know the right things; God is looking for people who do them."
