Peace Day was an annual free "Mini-Woodstock" peace event for Ontario students produced by Peaceworks, a non-profit organization. It took place in May at the Paris Ontario Fairgrounds and featured indie bands, speakers and workshops. A highlight was a performance by refugee students from the performing arts group "Crossing Borders". Peace Day was opened each year by the Six Nations chief along with aboriginal dancers.
In addition to middle school and high school students, it was attended by charities such as World Vision and Mennonite Central Committee as well as a number of colleges and universities. The event was sponsored in part by AMJ Campbell moving company that donated a couple of vans to house a video wall and a green room for the performers. Peace Day was discontinued in 2020 due to COVID.

Stephen was the lead tenor in several high profile choirs and spent a decade as the cantor at St. James' Cathedral, Toronto where he met many celebrities including Desmond Tutu, Queen Elizabeth, King Charles and other members of the royal family.
He'll regularly be singing Victorian/Edwardian era songs (mid 1800's to early 1900's) at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum's Doon Heritage Village starting in summer 2026.

Speakers teaching students while the workshops work their plans,
Videos are playing inside custom moving vans.

Charities and colleges and universities,
Help to spread the message throughout all communities,
School buses, like circled wagons, on the boundaries,
Food truck generators humming, selling what they please.
Peace Day is here. From far and near.
People talking to their friends as beach balls fill the sky,
Refugee kids entertaing on a stage up high,
Radio and TV hosts are asking "Where?" and "Why?",
Some are sleeping on the grass, it's time to say goodbye.
