Fane Productions | Peace Adzo Medie | Nightbloom (FULL EVENT) @faneproductions | Uploaded August 2023 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
‘Akorfa, you and Selasi were destined to walk side by side.’
Join the author of His Only Wife Peace Adzo Medie to celebrate the publication of her stunning new book Nightbloom.
Selasi and Akorfa are cousins, born on the same day in 1985. Growing up in a small Ghanaian town, they share everything: whispered late-night conversations, dreams for the future, secrets. But as they enter their teens, Selasi begins to change, constructing a wall around herself to keep everyone away. Soon, Akorfa no longer recognises her sad, withdrawn friend.
Peace’s newest book takes a keen-eyed look at family, class and discrimination in Ghana and the US. This unique virtual event will give you the opportunity to hear Peace talk about the importance of female friendship, the relationships that shape us and the people we never quite leave behind. With a compelling exploration of memory and forgiveness, this event will be an affirmation to the strength of female bonds.
A Night In with Peace Adzo Medie was originally broadcast on Tue 15 Aug 2023.
