The movie was a fun spy romp and being old and reasonably popular was obviously a prime candidate for an unwanted, not-needed remake just like everything else. With its light-heared take on gender roles the film dealt with issues that make it a prime candidate for a "modern audiences" deconstruction and the new True Lies delivers all the Joss-Whedon-from-Wish LA girl babbling and insufferable girl-bossing that you would expect from every single TV/streaming show made in the last five years. Insufferable and incompetently made on every level, True Lies is guaranteed bad for your health.

A number of soldiers were killed or captured in the process. The novel launched the second career of Andy McNab making him a highly successful author. The success of this series launched a longer and on-going series of books and a cult TV show, it put ideas like the paranoid android, the meaning of life being 42 and others into the wider culture, and - much later – inspired a movie with Bill Nighy. It bombed harder than the RAF. It's predecessor, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, arguably sowed the seeds for the cinematic failure being more memorable for the memes it launched than the film itself. Crystal Skull ruined the series' good reputation with existing fans and failed to capture a new, younger audience. To follow that up with a $300m budgeted movie is the sort of corporate genius that rivals the Sinclair C5 and New Coke. However, with such a vast budget and fifteen years between movies to get things right, there was no reason why Dial of Destiny couldn't be a new watershed for the series.

This 1891 novel delves into the human psyche, morality, and the corrupting influence of aesthetic pursuits. The novel challenged Victorian sensibilities and sparked both admiration and outrage among critics of the time.
Dorian Gray is a young man whose portrait ages and decays while he remains untouched by time or sin. He is influenced by Lord Henry Wotton into a life of hedonism and immorality which Wilde uses to showcase the hypocricy of his time.
The book would gain further notoriety when it was used as evidence in Wilde's 1895 criminal trials. As such, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" remains relevant a century after it was written.

Spike Milligan was a British-Irish writer and comedian famous for his work with the surreal comedy group, "The Goon Show." Set in the fictional Irish village of Puckoon, the book is a satire of the absurdity of bureaucracy and human nature. The story follows the chaos that ensues when an arbitrary partition of Ireland splits the town in two. Critically acclaimed for its irreverent humor, "Puckoon" is celebrated as an absurd and rollicking farce, that shows Milligan's unique brand of humour.
