PAYDAY is coming to VR with PAYDAY: Aces High and I’ve gone hands-on with the early playtest on both Meta Quest 3/Quest and PCVR. After playing in single-player and multiplayer, I came away with a lot more questions than I expected.
In this video, I take a deep dive into the gameplay, VR mechanics, weapon handling, stealth, co-op and the overall PAYDAY experience. While I had some fun, the game currently feels much more like an arcade-style VR wave shooter than the immersive tactical heist experience I was expecting.
This is not a final review. PAYDAY: Aces High is currently targeting a late 2026 release, and this video is based on my early hands-on playtesting with the map available in this build. There is still plenty of time for Fast Travel Games to improve and expand the experience before launch.
