A male Greater Yellownape Woodpecker was happily feasting on a gargantuan jackfruit when a horde of squirrels gatecrashed its fruit party.
But sharing was far from this greedy Woodpecker's mind, hence it tried its best to fend off the marauding squirrels.
Spreading its wings repeatedly in an effort to look bigger than it was, it succeeded in scaring off a squirrel that had landed on top of the fruit. But no sooner had that squirrel leapt off the fruit, then another appeared below the fruit!
The woodpecker was in a fix: how to prevent thieving from both the top and bottom of this huge fruit, when the latter was so much bigger than you are?
There was just no way this woodpecker could physically guard the whole fruit. But tried it did, wearing itself out in the process and leaving itself no chance to enjoy the fruit.
Finally, and wisely, it relented and humbly settled down to share the fruit with the gatecrashers.
Perhaps the desire to continue feasting on this delicious treat was too much to resist.
