Chris Upton was riding a dirt bike Saturday while celebrating his 11-year-old son’s birthday with his wife and family when he hit a rut, causing him to be thrown from the bike. He suffered two brain bleeds, a broken collarbone and a fractured shoulder blade. He was flown by helicopter to a trauma center in Columbus for treatment. The accident happened in Heard County, about an hour southwest of Atlanta.
