Founded by Paul Stamets in 1980 with the goal of building a bridge between people and fungi, Fungi Perfecti has become synonymous with cutting-edge mycological research and innovative mycological solutions.
For more than 20 years, the Fungi Perfecti R&D team, led by Paul Stamets, has been collecting samples of Agarikon found in the wild. Once collected, we take them back to the lab, where we culture and preserve each valuable strain.
Last year, we hit a major biodiversity milestone by collecting our 100th Agarikon strain! Today, our culture library continues to grow, supporting the preservation of this important fungal species.
