Paul Rasps and his car in preparation for the 2010 Pinewood Derby. This is his fourth and final year in the competition and it promises to be a hot race with a hot car.
The car, which Paul designed himself, was cut out on a bandsaw by Grandpa. Paul used a hand shaper and different grades of sandpaper from very coarse to super fine to bring the car into focus. Paul's dad, Hector, showed Paul the proper way to sand without creating gouge marks in the soft wood.
Now it's on to the paint shed where it will be professionally painted by Paul's uncle, Tio Moises.
The competition, to be held on March 13, 2010 is a highlight of Cub Scout Pack 153's spring schedule
