Paul McCartney concert - Photo movie - Tokyo Dome 30 April 2017.
Paul McCartney played three sold out shows at The Tokyo Dome in April 2007 as part of his worldwide "One on One" concert tour. This photo video shows scenes from his April 30th concert (the last of the three concerts) which I attended.
It was a great concert for the Beatles fan and the Paul McCartney fan. Paul was on stage for just under 3 hours. He sang lots of Beatles songs and Wings songs. There were only a couple that I had never heard before. I was glad to see him perform Hey Jude, Get Back, Blackbird, Yesterday, Hard day's night, Maybe I'm Amazed, Band on the Run, Live and let Die as well as tribute songs to John and George.
Paul spoke some obvious practiced phrases in Japanese which got the crowd going. The stadium was full and rockin'. The only negative was that I was so far from the stage that Paul looked very small but they had two giant screens on either side of the stage that projected what was happening on stage. The lighting show was spectacular and we all had blue glow-stick to be used when he sang Hey Jude!
As well as singing all the songs, Paul played lots of guitar and some piano. He's still got it and is a great rocker. The Japanese love the Beatles and there was a variety of t-shirts worn by fans that I guess were purchased from previous concerts which was great to see. The merchandise stalls were doing a roaring business both before and after the concert - the official program cost 3000 yen (approx $35) and t-shirts were going for 4000 yen (approx $47). A great concert and I would go again in a heartbeat.
