Paul Gilbert - (Always Show Pity To) The Suffering Offender (Bonus Track)
WROC is my first vocal album since 2016. The lyrics were inspired by the etiquette book, "George Washington's Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior." I truly enjoyed turning Washington's Rules of Civility (WROC) into ROCK songs! I hope my vocal and guitar melodies will stir your heart and improve your table manners. Spit Not in the Fire!

Lyrics inspired by Washington Rules: 23, 43 and 62
This was the last song that I wrote for the WROC album. The chords turned out to be sometimes strange and dissonant. I think this works for the song, but I could also tell that I was searching for unusual sounds in order not to repeat myself. After finishing the song, I felt like "I have used every spice on the shelf." And that was a good time to put the guitar down, and start shopping for waistcoats and breeches. For you guitar players out there, note that Doug and I have capos on the 3rd fret. Many thanks to everyone who listened to all these songs! WROC!
