We sat down with mathematician and brother Dr. Patrick Vernon to figure out how to turn a 2D drawing into a 3D shape.
NOTE: The equation we used to determine the radii of the cross sections at ~7:30 was given as 2πr/8, but since we're patterning a symmetrical object, we divided that by 2 and only drafted on one side. For this instance you could use the formula 2πr/16, or simplified πr/8.
