The protagonist, Luo Ji, is unexpectedly chosen as a Wallfacer and plays a crucial role in devising a plan to thwart the Trisolarans. Megan appreciates the intricate sci-fi concepts, societal developments, and moral themes explored in the book. She praises the authors use of biblical references and illusions to convey moral themes. However, she acknowledges that the books dense plot and slow pacing may not appeal to all readers. Despite this, Megan gives The Dark Forest a five-star rating and expresses excitement for the next installment in the series.")

They hold a grand masquerade ball in a series of seven intricately decorated rooms, each with a different color scheme.
The final room is draped in black with red windows, creating a macabre atmosphere. During the ball, a mysterious figure dressed as a victim of the Red Death appears, causing fear and confusion among the guests. Despite the princes attempts to confront the figure, he collapses and dies. The guests then realize that the Red Death has infiltrated their sanctuary. Ultimately, the disease claims the lives of everyone present, underscoring the inevitability of death and the futility of trying to escape it.")
