In this video, I am playing two separate games on the America on Duty table, mainly to show as much of its mission structure and table objectives as possible. A single run would not really be enough to cover everything this table tries to throw at the player.

Patriotic Pinball is a 2003 pinball game for the PlayStation, developed by Wildfire Studios and published by Gotham Games. Released very late in the system’s life, it is one of those odd PS1 titles that feels slightly out of time, both because of its subject matter and because of how specific its theme is.
The game includes two tables, but this video focuses on America on Duty, the more military-themed of the pair. Instead of building the table around road trips and American landmarks, this one leans into soldiers, battles, aircraft, submarines, Uncle Sam imagery, and a general sense of patriotic wartime spectacle.
The missions give the table most of its identity. You are not just keeping the ball alive for points; you are also trying to trigger and complete objectives based around different military scenes. The game moves from Civil War imagery to boot camp, submarine tracking, battlefield rescues, and even a B-17 bombing run. It is a strange mixture, but that is also what makes the table distinctive. It feels less like a realistic tribute to any one period of history and more like a broad pinball collage of American military iconography.
That theme can feel excessive, and sometimes almost unintentionally funny, especially when played today. The table throws so much patriotic imagery at the player that it becomes part of the entertainment. It is not subtle at all, but it is not anonymous either. America on Duty has a clear personality, and that already makes it more interesting than a completely generic budget pinball table.
As digital pinball, it is modest but playable. The missions give you something to aim for, the table has enough ramps and targets to keep the ball moving, and the military theme gives each objective a bit of context. The physics are not among the best on the PlayStation, and the ball can sometimes feel more video game-like than physical, but the layout is readable and the overall rhythm works well enough.
What makes America on Duty stand out is not that it is a great pinball table, but that it is such a strange late-era PS1 artifact. It combines budget digital pinball, American patriotic imagery, military missions, and a very specific early-2000s tone into something that is hard to forget. It is limited, sometimes awkward, and definitely over the top, but for a retro archive, that kind of odd personality is exactly why it is worth documenting.
