The first major new public artwork for the Metro Tunnel is now installed.

Australian artist Patricia Piccinini visited Parkville Station to see her work, ‘Vernal Glade’, during installation. See how the light from the station’s glass entrance canopy plays off the 500+ ceramic tiles, which were hand made in Japan.

Large scale artworks by Australian artists will be an exciting feature across our stations when the Metro Tunnel opens in 2025.
