From this episode on, we're playing on one of the first couple patches released for the game, which is necessary to fix our Ascension Peak crash. This should be one of the earlier patches where they hadn't yet changed how pickpocketing works, though I'm not sure we'll get a chance to do much of that at this point in the playthrough. It's significant because digital versions of the game come prepatched to the latest version (which includes the pickpocketing changes), so this is about as close as we can get to finishing the game from an install right off the v1.0 discs.
Wizardry 8 is the final chapter in the trilogy of 6, 7 and 8. Stranded on planet Dominus, our party will need to brave the dangers of a brand new world in order to stop the machinations of the Dark Savant.
We're importing our party that we began with all way back in Wizardry 6 for this playthrough, so the story picks up more or less directly after the events of our Wizardry 7 adventure. We're playing on a real Windows 98 PC with a Pentium III, GeForce 3 (OpenGL API), and Sound Blaster Audigy (EAX 2.0 audio).
