The Scientific Revolution changed the way that thinking people approached truth, as belief in anything - even God - required a rational or empirical justification based on the Scientific Method. Although God's existence cannot be proven, many of the greatest thinkers of the seventeenth century still believed. Among these thinking believers was Blaise Pascal, a French mathematician, philosopher, and theologian. In his posthumously published book, Pensées, Pascal explained his belief in God in mathematical terms in the form of a wager. Since Christianity promises the infinite reward of eternal life, he believed that it was worth it to stake his life on the Christian faith.

If you want to see Pascal's Wager debunked, you will have to go elsewhere, as my only point in making this video is to explain the wager so that you can decide on its merits for yourself. Do you find Pascal's logic credible? Let me know in the comments!
